The Bretton Hall estate is included on English Heritage’s Register of Parks and Gardens of special historic interest in England, and is a landscape of national significance. There are also a number of Grade II and II* Listed buildings and features within the gardens and park. Among these buildings is the Grade II* Listed Bretton Chapel, dating from 1744, which with the exception of Bretton Hall itself, is the oldest remaining building on the site.

After carrying out surveys on various building on the site as part of the Natural England Higher Level Stewardship environmental scheme, we were commissioned directly to undertake a condition survey of the Chapel for YSP.
